Who would be a football manager? Or more specifically, who would be a football manager in Wales? Job security is hardly sky high in football management, but the turnover of managers in Wales this season has taken the managerial merry-go-round to a whole new level. All four professional football clubs in Wales have binned their managers in the last 16 days. Newport County, Swansea City, Cardiff City, and Wrexham have all decided that the man in the dugout had to go.

Gary Mills departed Wrexham today, having been the last remaining manager at a Welsh team from the start of the season. While it has been an unprecedented turnover of managers at Welsh clubs, it is hard to argue with any of the decisions. Mills’ Wrexham side were expected to challenge for promotion from the National League this year, but find themselves languishing in 15th place.

While Francesco Guidolin departed Swansea on October 3 with the club in 17th place in the Premier League and with just one win in seven matches so far this term.
