Lochgelly resident Stacy Margaret Allan is currently enjoying success with her debut crime novel Sorrow Dreams available for Kindle and in Paperback format, which reached number 12 in the Urban Fiction chart, and number 36 on the Scottish Crime chart on Kindle, just two days after being published.

The book is set in the fictional town of Shinewater and is set between 1998 and 2010. Author Stacy explains that the premise for the book: It s set in Fife and explores teen drinking, sex, drugs, murder and the mixed fates of people who were born into difficult situations. The action in the book begins in a town called Shinewater next to Loch Gelly and I named it after the loch itself, which means Loch of Shining Waters.

The book is centred around a young adopted girl, Dawn Napier, who finds herself facing a changed and dangerous world when she meets Darren Seaton and his group of friends;

Five gang members set out to ruin young women s reputations by attacking them and posting the evidence of their downfall online and when they choose Dawn as their next victim, her boyfriend leads her on a trail of devastation.

Her attackers end up facing the ultimate revenge but Dawn becomes stuck in a nightmare and only time will tell if she and her new friends will make it out the other side alive.

Assaulted, hunted down and torn between her parents and her boyfriend, Dawn has to make the ultimate choice of who to trust.

She discovers old family secrets that threaten to break her new family apart and meets relatives who are the kind of people she could never even have imagined.

As her life spirals from one scandal to the next she struggles to hold on to what matters most

On her recent success, Stacy comments My best reaction has been from a friend who wakes up an hour early in the morning to read a few chapters each day and I ve made a family member late for work because she didn t want to put it down.

Stacy thanks her friends, family and supporters for helping her on her writing journey, and thanks staff at Forthview Learning Centre, Business Gateway, Prince s Trust and CARF (Citizens Advice Rights Fife) for helping her to become a full-time writer.

Stacey is now currently working on her second book which will follow on from Sorrow Dreams .
