NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) The man who accused former Suffolk County Police Chief James Burke1 of assault, leading to Burke s arrest, was involved in a fight outside a condo complex.
As WCBS 880 s Sophia Hall reported, Christopher Loeb2 left Woodridge Strathmore condo complex in Mount Sinai with a woman around 1:30 a.m. to pick up another man, but about a half-hour later, when he returned, police said Loeb began fighting with the man outside the security booth.
The security guard tried to break up the fight, Hall reported. Loeb and the guard were taken to the hospital, treated for their injuries and released.
The male and female who were with Loeb left before police arrived, Hall reported.
Loeb was not charged with a crime.
The complex is for residents who are 55 and older.
One of the units is registered in Loeb s mother s name.
Ex-police chief Burke is accused of assaulting Loeb after he was arrested for stealing Burke s duffel bag.
Burke was charged by federal authorities and is being held without bail.
