Former colleagues of a man who lost his wife and unborn baby in a horror crash on the M4 have raised nearly 2,500 for the family. Rebecca Evans, 27, from Bridgend, was eight months pregnant when she and her baby daughter died in the crash on Tuesday. Her husband Alex and two-year-old son Cian both survived the crash.

Cian had to be cut free and was taken to hospital. Now Alex s work colleagues at a South Wales security company have set up a fund to help the family, and it raised more than 2,000 in 24 hours. The JustGiving Page says: We can t even begin to imagine how Alex is feeling at the moment.

Boss Jason Maksimovic, who runs the Treforest-based company, said: I have known Alex for three years and my heart just goes out to him.
There are no words for what has happened, but hopefully this can go a little way to helping out the family.

Under Rebecca s leadership the education and youth work of Shelter Cymru had become highly regarded by schools, government and other organisations in the field and had made real impacts on the understanding of homelessness and housing need among young people.
