The PSNI launched the security operation on Wednesday evening after officers swamped the Policing Board building at Clarendon Dock.
Items, including fire extinguishers, were removed and placed through X-ray scanning equipment before being returned.
A police spokeswoman said: “The PSNI ensure there is an appropriate and proportionate police presence for every Policing Board meeting.”
