The neighbourhood policing team has asked businesses to review and update their security as a precaution. The spokesman added: “It goes without saying that the police are asking businesses to check their security and to assess whether further precautions can be made to prevent themselves being targeted by thieves.

“It’s important to keep doors locked and windows secured at all times, fit good quality locks to external doors and windows and fit a security alarm.”

Police say that sometime overnight between October 7 and 8 thieves broke into Jean’s Hair Salon4 on County Bridge, Radstock, causing damage to a store-room roof and a door, and stole cash from a charity tin. Three break-ins were reported the following night.

Items that have been taken by the thieves include a generator, power tools and surveying equipment.

Anyone with any information about any of these incidents is asked to get in touch through the police website, or by calling 101.
