Akamai Technologies announced Monday night have acquired
Bloxx for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 1999 and based in Edinburgh
Scotland, the company developed a filtering web access platform
(Secure Web Gateway) to help companies protect themselves from attacks
phishing, malware and data theft.
Akamai reported
intends to integrate this technology into a security cloud service
it plans to launch next year indefinitely. Activity
Traditional Akamai is to make Internet fast, reliable and secure
for websites and applications, said Willie
Tejada, the boss of the cloud division.
