A retired police officer slammed down wannabe gang members from Porthcawl in a magnificent Facebook1 rant – and residents of the seaside town absolutely loved it. Following a late-night disturbance in the town on Friday night, ex Gwent and Metropolitan Police officer Debbie Mottley, 46, took to the Porthcawl2 First group to vent her feelings. Addressed to “the boys who were kicking cars and knocking doors” – a gang she believes goes by the name SPT for South Porthcawl Town – she warned them in her post that using the title “makes you sound like an idiot”.

Um… what gang culture?

Porthcawl resident Debbie – who is originally from London and policed with the Met for a decade before moving to Wales when she met her husband – made three stark points in her post on Saturday.

An Ex-police Officer Took Down Wannabe Gangsters In A Priceless ...

After telling the culprits that she knew their identities she went onto point two, which said: “It is not cool to add SPT to your name, it makes you sound like an idiot.

“I policed South London in the ’90s and dealt with some of the toughest gangs this country has to offer. You, on the other hand, are in Porthcawl , not the ‘hood’ …I know your parents and they are nice people. “

Then Debbie, who now works for Bluestone Security Services after retiring from Gwent Police3 , went onto point three: “If you knew anything about gang culture you would realise that you should respect your own ‘hood’ and pick your fights with your neighbouring gangs which in this case would be North Cornelly who, I suspect would whoop your pathetic asses back to your four bedroom detached houses where the nearest you’ve ever been to getting ‘tooled up’ is when you used to play with your Bob the Builder workman bench.”

‘Nailed it’

Within a couple of hours the post had gained 400 likes and dozens of comments from thrilled fellow residents. One said: “Go Debbie. Brilliant.”

Another member posted: “BOOM, nailed it.”

One resident couldn’t resist having a further go at the youngsters stating: “That was brilliantly worded.

I don’t know about a gang, they need to get out of nappies first.”

Where is south Porthcawl, anyway?

Other members of the group questioned the geographical accuracy of the gang’s name South Porthcawl Town.

“…strange, as always thought the town was built on an east/west design?

Maybe double geography for them as punishment?”

Another resident added: “Wouldn’t South Porthcawl Town put them somewhere in the sea?”
