NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — Administrators lifted a lockdown at an elementary school after staff members encountered a suspicious person who claimed he was an undercover officer. Detectives said the man entered Mary Calcott Elementary1, located at 137 Westmont Avenue, around 8:30 a.m. Although he said he was an undercover officer who was doing a security check, he refused to show staff members identification when they asked for it.
Then, he left. The police impersonator is described as a black man, about 6 tall, in his 40s wearing a blue plaid shirt and khaki pants. Anyone who recognizes the man pictured or has any information about this incident is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
