RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) Beyonc s controversial Super Bowl 50 halftime show could impact her upcoming concert in the Triangle. This comes after her controversial performance when the singer alluded to the Black Panther movement. Several police departments across the country, including Miami, Tampa, and Nashville, are either boycotting Beyonc s Formation World Tour, or urging officers not to volunteer to work at her shows.

Beyonc is scheduled to perform in Raleigh on Tuesday, May 3, at Carter-Finley Stadium. On Tuesday evening, Raleigh s police union will discuss a boycott themselves. In a statement to WNCN, Rick Armstrong, VP of Teamsters local 391, said: The Raleigh Police Protective Association, Teamsters local 391 has called for a special meeting to discuss the concerns many officers have of Beyonc s upcoming tour in Raleigh.

Our members have expressed specific concerns over the Black Panther images at half time of the Super Bowl.

Many officers believe it was disrespectful to the police profession and hope Beyonc will look to less controversial images to convey her point.
