A shooting incident Monday afternoon in Rutland is taking the time of police. This afternoon at 2:17 Kelowna RCMP responded to a report that a man had been shot in the 100 block of Highway 33 East. Several police resources have been deployed in the area. The victim suffered what police describe as non-life threatening injuries as a result of an apparent gunshot wound. He has since been taken to hospital in stable condition.
Schools in the immediate area were placed in a temporary hold and secure while police conducted a search with police dogs.
The Hold and Secure has since been lifted.
