Timings: 8:00 am for 8:30 am
Date: Wednesday 13th April
Location: PwC Cornwall Court, Birmingham

In a world where security-related incidents are not only confined to higher risk territories, affecting European cities and other lower risk rated areas, it is clear that security is a crucial consideration. With this in mind, we are holding a roundtable discussion specifically for Higher Education organisations on how to keep staff and students safe when travelling, wherever that may be. This event is to be held on Wednesday 13 April, and we would be delighted if you could join us. We will be discussing the answers to questions such as:

  • How effective are your processes for assessing risk, identifying and implementing appropriate controls, and approving travel?
  • Do you know whether your people are security briefed appropriately and, if necessary, trained before they travel?
  • Where all your staff and students are at any given time?
  • Whether your organisation has suitable plans in place to deal with a rapidly evolving security situation with little notice?
  • How appropriate the start-to-finish security measures are for staff and students participating in longer-term overseas assignments?

We are aiming this event at people with Senior Management responsibility; however, you may wish to pass this invite to a delegate if you feel they would be more appropriate.

We will be joined by our Global Enterprise Security Leader Mark Wolsey and security specialist Nick Innell.

Both have key experience to draw upon having previously led PwC’s in-house global security team and will provide relevant case studies to provide current insights and provide context for debate covering the full spectrum of security threats and risks.

The discussion will be held under Chatham House rules and we hope that it will provide for an open discussion that will allow us to explore not only ‘ the current state of travel security ‘ but ‘ more importantly ‘what happens next’.

Breakfast and refreshments will be served from 8:00, for an 8:30 start to the session, and we expect to finish around 10:00am.

We very much hope you will be able to join us.

Places are limited so please RSVP to Nicola Edwards by email at Nicola.edwards@uk.pwc.com or 0121 265 5289 to confirm your attendance by Monday 21 March.
