The cleaning, security and related support services contractor Regent Samsic1 has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for health and safety.
Employing 5000 people, the Coventry-based company provides cleaning, security and related support services to some 750 clients including NHS Blood & Transplant, Volvo Truck & Bus UK, United Biscuits, Fosse Shopping Park, Birmingham Metropolitan College and builders merchants Jewsons. The Safecontractor third party accreditation scheme recognises standards paid in health and safety management among UK contractors.
Regent Samsic joing managing director Jonathan King says: Health and safety are paramount disciplines in our day-to-operations and Safecontractor accreditation reassures existing and prospect clients of our commitment to both.
Under the Safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo vetting which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.
Over 210 businesses from several key sectors have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.
Meanwhile Ian Leeding, pictured, has been appointed Operations Director at Regent Samsic.
Formerly responsible for the company s London and South operations, he joined the Coventry-based cleaning, security and related support services contractor in 2013 from Churchill Group.
He s had management experience with OCS, Chubb Fire, and Johnson Hospitality Services.
