Celebrity Big Brother: Jeremy McConnell Never Won Mr Ireland, Say …

It’s all been kicking off on Celebrity Big Brother¹ this year, with big twists, shock nominations and a few massive outbursts (mainly courtesy of Megan McKenna²).

But now more controversy surrounds the show as some have questioned whether hunky Jeremy McConnell is a celeb³ at all.

After getting a place in the CBB house due to his Mr Ireland contest win, it’s been revealed that the star didn’t actually win the event, and everyone’s a little confused.

So let us clear it up…

The organisers for Mr and Miss Ireland have said: ‘Jeremy never held the title of Mr Ireland or represented Ireland at any event.’

They did, however, reveal he entered the preliminary stages of the comp: ‘He was a finalist in late 2012 which saw Mr Limerick Leo Delaney win the title and represent Ireland at Mr World 2013. Leo placed a very impressive 1st runner up at the event,’ the statement said.

BUT a rep for 23-year-old Jeremy says he never ever claimed to have won the event: ‘Jeremy has never claimed he was Mr Ireland.’

The plot thickens…

They went on to address the mix up: ‘There seems to be confusion because he did participate in the competition but did not win. Also, he was previously named Mr Dublin and has never used the title to gain notoriety.’

The suggestion that he was Mr Ireland was actually used in his VT prior to entering the house, but Jeremy himself never made the claim he won the event.

Jezza also said, when interviewed before the show started, about public misconceptions: ‘My modelling career in Ireland has been decent.

I’ve become a figure, maybe with the women.

My last three girlfriends have been models.

So people think I’m a player, but I’m not.’

He’s also appeared in MTV’s Beauty School Drop Outs, as well as having a successful career in modelling.

So let’s not judge him based on everything you hear in the press, OK?
