After a video emerged of a security sound asleep on the job at Warren Apartments, FOX13 asked the founder and owner of the Global Ministries, Richard Hamlet, about the video.
Hamlet agreed the complex is known for crime and said crime has increased, doubled in the zip code, probably.
While the guard is sleeping in the video, he supposedly doesn t notice his gun being upholstered.
Hamlet said the whole thing was a joke being played on that security guard by other guards.
The truth on that is, it was one of the security personnel part of the security company playing a joke, Hamlet said .
Those folks have been terminated I believe by the management company.
LEDIC Management Group hired the War Eagle Security Group to provide protection for the residents at the Warren, Tulane and Goodwill Village Apartments.
Following the emergence of the video, LEDIC released this statement:
“LEDIC has immediately required the guard company to remove all of the guards shown in this video, and new guards have been assigned to protect resident safety as our investigation continues.”
FOX13 also put in calls to the War Eagle Security Group to see if these guards were still employed by the company, but the phone calls have not been returned.
LEDIC told FOX13 they are working with the owners and security group to insure safety at Warren.
We are spending more on security than any other owner ever has, Hamlet said.
The Warren Apartments have been working with police to rid the complex of crime, and they told FOX13 their past relationship with the War Eagle Security Group is a good one.
