Tim Smith exhibited 40 of his works from the past few years in his Solo Show at East Riding Open Studios¹ in October.

My work is driven by a fascination with the changing world, contemporary culture and the history of art.

These are often mixed together in what I want to be a spontaneous blend of images rich in cultural references, I hope held together by passages of pure painting and lyrical colour in a new representationalism .

I tend not to paint the same things in long series of works, there are too many good ideas thrown our way each day to do this, but many of my themes will resurface in new combinations over a period of time.
